Plan B in the Time of Uncertainty

Finally got hold of the video! Our MADE SG member Joanne was featured in Chanel News Asia! As an ex-software engineer, she shared in the programme that she was fortunate to have a "back-up" plan - an alternative source of income from Nuskin, when she was retrenched from her full-time job in July 2008.

Pursuit of Excellence

Finally we got to see how and why they could rise so fast in the past 2 years. Behind the scene there are so many details being meticulously planned, worked out, and refined – there is simply no room left to chance!

Before BOM the speakers were gathered and trained in the afternoon. Each of their sharing was videoed and commented part by part, word by word – their story, flow, emotion, interaction… and everything within a precise duration of 2 minutes! This really showed up in the actual BOM when all the speakers amazed us with their improved speech and high energy. The energy was highest when all the speakers and leaders were invited on stage, and one could see so many of them proudly representing the team and how wonderful this business is! Gratitude and unity certainly shined on the stage. Sharing from our team had not been disappointing too, especially Hock Seng’s story of a choice he made 7 years ago. As a closing, it moved everyone. Nancy was still contributing.

This evening we witnessed yet another event – TRA Guest Event. Needless to say, it opened our eyes again! Every section was perfectly planned with introduction of the product, emphasis on the programme and team, and personal sharing by TRA champions. The most interesting part was giving of “angpow” for new sign-up - we were all surprised to see so many people ran up to the stage and grabbed them! The event closed at least 7 new TRA participants right away! And even if there were still some undecided prospects, this scene would have made a great impact.

Yet, the level of detail did not stop there. Before the Guest Event, we had a tea meeting with Sherry, the experienced class monitor who had achieved the highest conversion rate from TRA participant to business builder. Again, nothing was left to chance. All the classes were planned with many opportunities for invitation, all the participants were prepared during preparation call, all the team leaders were well T-up whenever possible, all the inviting scripts were perfected and used again and again. We thought that was all, but we were wrong again when Savio showed us, during debrief, how different psychological tactics can be used by the team leader to achieve the greatest result for each and every participant!

Until this point, we have to salute Joint Force for all the efforts they have made, and really thank all the leaders for sharing everything with us selflessly. Personally, I have really benefited so much from this trip. I am especially inspired by all the leaders here, for each of them not only has a great mind, but also a big heart.

System of Franchising

The highlight of today is the morning meeting with Joint Force Core Team. Seriously, I mean it. It was mind blowing. This business is much bigger and more interesting than I ever imagined! Taichi’s vision of TRA, Nuskin, or even the whole Network Marketing industry is such a paradigm shift! Never does anyone challenge the 1-in-3 law of success but this MBA holder with a special interest in the franchise business system. For so many months of talking about a franchise business, only now I can really understand how it can be so.

This is going to be so exciting!

Freedom

Today was yet another exciting day of learning - through playing! We visited both Taichi & Charissa’s and Joseph & Janet’s houses. What began like a holiday ended up being more powerful than any BOM!

It all started off with a sumptuous meal of seafood at Hung Hum, treated by Taichi & Charissa. With the beautiful bay as backdrop and delicious seafood in front, our self-introduction turned out to be declaration of our goals!

The two houses were all beautifully finished with strong personal flavors. Taichi & Charissa’s new house is a HK$15 million 3-storey terrace with good sea view from the top floor, which is an open-concept master bedroom eclectically done up with seductive glass bathroom.

Joseph & Janet’s house, on the other hand, is also a 3 storey terrace but with split levels and roof terraces at intermediate floors and rooftop. Internally looking with minimalist contrast of dark wood and white-wash walls, it is indeed an architect’s dream come true!

We had a wonderful bbq session at Joseph’s garden. I must say this could be the most relaxing bbq that I’ve ever enjoyed and besides the timely hot soup, even the bbq food tasted better than ever. While Janet was busy making sure everything was ok, Joseph was loudly sharing his experience which turned out to be a mini-BOM, in Mandarin – a very alternative one indeed!

As I was reflecting on our way back to our apartment, I was thinking about what Taichi had said to me during lunch about my goals, and what I saw with my own eyes the lives that they are living now. The word “freedom” keeps coming up in my mind. It seems funny that I’ve been preaching to people about financial freedom and only now I got a little taste of what it means and really looks like. It is however not about the dream houses by the beach or the BMW and the Merz outside their houses. More importantly and excitingly, through Joseph’s passionate and humorous sharing, I begin to see what it is about “freedom” and why is it so important, at least to me. It is an empowerment - empowerment to do nothing or anything without any monetary burden attached to it. In short, it could be freedom to design anything – something that only architecture master can achieve in the past and something that I’m really passionate about! I believe that “freedom”, in some form or other, is what most, if not all, people will fight for. And I realize that I’m not only a messenger, but also a fighter now. This game of life is getting more interesting and exciting!

“We all only have one life, we can’t control or change other people but we can control and change ourselves, our lives. Why not fight for our own freedom, and do whatever we want later?” – Joseph Cheung (when he’s half-drunk, or at least pretended to be)

Unity and Gratitude

Today was an amazing day of learning and fun! It leads me to think that it’ll be too much for me to share by the time we get back to Singapore! So I decided to share right now when the memory is still fresh…

The TRA Graduation yesterday was already eye-opening. I couldn’t believe how the room was packed with hundreds of people! The energy was super high, the TRA Da-Ren (Achievers) were all so excited, the crowd were cheering for their friends and families, the events were interesting, the hosts were entertaining, even the prizes were all so attractive – with Champion of Champions taking away prizes that worth more than HK$10,000! I was seriously thinking, how did they do that?

That question was immediately answered by Charissa, 5MDCM & TE, this morning during the special training for qualifying team leaders. They have not only a system, but the thoroughness in the details of each step in the execution. From setting up of the TRA committee & class structure, planning of Guest Event, to the details of team leader handbook and participant welcome pack, we can see how much effort had been put into creating the system; and more so, in creating a standard model of duplication!

All the procedures and problems were summarized in just one training, so that the responses to all the common situations arising from the Success Class are standardized among the leaders. To become a class monitor one also had to go through the process of being a participant (minimum 2 months TRA), assistant team leader, team leader, and then assistant monitor. This ensures a continuity of supporting team, while building up a strong foundation in both knowledge and organization skills. Only when the Success Class is strong and committed to bring the greatest benefits to the customers, we can then talk about customer retention after TRA and even conversion to business builder!

What impressed me is also the post-TRA events that line up to expose the existing participants to business, such as the TRA Graduation, Grand Competition, Guest Event; and for those who are interested in business, New Distributor Orientation; and for those who are not YET interested, TRA Alunmni. Like what Tai-chi was saying, this whole system could be the solution to a long-time problem – how to make invitation and follow-up easy and remove objections! The whole system is a system of follow-up, with the prospects come every week by themselves and willing to learn all that we can offer!

To date, in 2008, HK Joint Force has helped 750 people to lose a total of 4630 pounds of fat (not weight), 5986 inches, and 2300 years of body age! Incredible indeed, considering they only started with a few committed leaders, but with a big dream of bringing in 1000 people a year! The credit should certainly be given to the team who had made it happen. They have brought the Joint Force’s slogan to live:

“Unity and gratitude, let's achieve extra-ordinary life together!”

This reminds me to thank Almond, HK BD I met yesterday during dinner, and her Sweden Chinese downline, Esther, who gave me some Tegreen and Reishimax for my throat infection – they really help! And also Karen and Kenny who bought me herbal drinks and Chinese medicine for flu. It touched me and strengthened my belief in giving.

Nu Skin Enterprises recently won the Best Social Responsible Program from the American Business Awards in July 2007 for it's Nourish the Children Initiative http://www.nourishthechildren.com/. They are aligned with United Nations; where UN identifies poverty stricken countries that need Vitameal donations (a nourishing rice meal fortified with 25 vitamins and minerals).

Our goal is to save the 15million children in the world that die from malnutrition. Who do you know who can help donate with a few bags a month to save a kid from malnutrition?

Our goal is to donate 100M meals by end of this year. We are currently at 99.7M meals! Want to help?

TRAnsformed! And help others!

Thanks to Hock Seng and Alfred for sharing the following scheme! It's a fantastic scheme for anyone who'd like to have slimmer, healthier and younger body but have financial difficulty. But first ask the following qualifying questions after the person has agreed to take up TRA:

Q1: If you were transformed successfully, would you like to share with your friends and help others to transform as well?

Q2: If the company gives you a little reward for helping others, would you like to know more about it?

5 min presentation:

Month 1: You take up TRA and ARO 100PV of g3 (fruit & vege replacement)

U - TRA (LTP)

S$170 (commision)

Month 2: You continue ARO g3 and share with a friend who'd do the same as you, i.e. sharing (A), and find another friend who just take up TRA and ARO g3 as user (B)

_U_
(A) B

S$370

Month 3: You just find another A and B

___U___
(A) B (A) B

S$850

Month 4: You continue to find one A and one B

_____U_____
(A) B (A) B (A) B

S$3000-5000

Total investment in yourself= S$2900
Total commision around S$4400-S$6400

If the person is keen to learn more and has 10-15min, then share the commision details.

Basic principles of 15min presentation:

Month 1: LTP
PV = 100
GV= 1000
AAB = 10% x 1000 = US100 = S$170

Month 2: Qualifying 2 (Q2)
PV = 100
GV = 2200
AAB = 10% x 2200 = US220 = S$370

Month 3: Q3 (Total GV=6000)
PV = 100
GV = 2800
AAB = 10% x 2800 + 10% x 2200 (your first A is now Q2) = US500 = S$850

Month 4: Exec
PV = 100
GV around 10000
AAB = 10% x 10000 = US1000
EB = 20% x 10000 = US2000
Total = US3000 = S$5100

Month 5: Gold Exec, comm around S$6800

Month 6: Lapis, comm around S$10000

Month 8: Ruby

Month 18: BD

Month 25: TE
